Tune-In
How do I use the chakra system as my roadmap for healing and personal growth?
It ALL begins with learning to sense your own lifeforce energy.
First “Reboot,” then “Tune-In.”
Reboot:
Get comfortable in a private, quiet space. (I often use the shower.)
Notice where your body touches the ground (chakra 1). Feel the solidity of matter and pull of gravity on your body. Think of the earth supporting you. Embrace the sensation of being fully physically present.
Notice the top of your head (chakra 7). There is very little separating the top of your head from infinite space. Sense this openness, expansion and possibility - like a weight or lid being lifted from your head. If outdoors, look up at the sky.
Envision bright healing energy shining on the top of your head. I often picture standing on a beach with sunlight warming my hair.
Inhale deeply and draw this energy deep into your body - lighting up the inside of your skull, behind your eyes, down your throat, into your lungs and down the forward surface of your spine, behind your internal organs, all the way down to your sacrum (chakra 2, in front of the flat bone between your spine & tailbone). Hold the breath in for a bit, pause and notice how open and receptive you feel.
Exhale fully by compressing your low belly and then your ribs. Pause the breath, and feel the warm wave of energy rise toward your throat (chakra 5), then pause again. (It’s kind of like swinging on a swing set.) Notice the physical sensation of joyous lifeforce in your body!
Repeat the breath cycle 3 times (steps 5 & 6), gently rocking the pulse of energy between chakra 2 & chakra 6 allowing about 3 minutes.
I use Reboot to refresh my energetic system at least once a day.
Tune-In:
Place your attention deeply into your body, starting with chakra 1 (sitbones/tailbone). Really feel that region. Allow your mind to become aware of any sensations, images, or emotions that arise.

Continue slowly scanning your body upward, pausing at the other six chakras.

Notes
This is how I stumbled across the reality of my life force energy within my own body. Before this, I *thought* through such practices. Experiencing and playing with your own lifeforce is THE KEY to finding the wholeness you seek.
As a living being with a body, all of your chakras are already interconnected and functioning to some extent. “Blockages” refer to stuck issues and emotions that gum-up your energetic system, preventing optimal performance (kind of like gunk in a car’s engine).
Being negative or critical of yourself will halt your healing process and tighten blockages. An attitude of playful curiosity allows change!
I recommend using Tune-In following Reboot. However, with practice you will learn to Tune-In to check in with yourself while on the go. This builds self-awareness and self-trust, both critical to self-growth.
